By finishing in 32nd place and Lee Westwood unable to secure a victory at the Volvo Masters, Robert Karlsson became the first Swede to win the Order of Merit. Because of next year's season ending Race to Dubai, this was the last Volvo Masters and the last time the season ending money title will be labeled the Order of Merit.
