Howell withdraws from U.S. Open

David Howell, the world's 35th ranked player, has withdrawn from the U.S. Open due to a wrist injury.  According to a post on Howell's website on June 3rd, the Englishman was planning to play at Oakmont and had been resting for the occasion.  However, according to Reuters, Howell said he sprained his wrist while practicing in England eight days ago.  Howell will be replaced by second alternate Luke List.
