More analysts respecting Perry's decision

Kenny_perry_ptiAfter his first two wins of the season, there wasn't much praise for Kenny Perry's decision to skip the U.S. Open and Open Championship.  But with his win at the John Deere Classic Sunday, some analysts are coming out and throwing Perry some support.  On PTI, Mike Wilbon admitted that he was hoping Perry would go to Birkdale, but both he and Bob Ryan showed some appreciation for Perry's steadfast reasoning...

Ryan: When you’re 47, you oughta have it together and figure out who you are. He has never deviated…

Wilbon: It’s honorable on every level…He doesn’t offer any phony reasons as to why he’s playing.

Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN.com adds:

I don't understand skipping majors, but I respect Perry for telling the rest of us to stick it -- and then winning tournaments and a Ryder Cup roster spot on his own terms.
