If you were keeping tabs on last weekend's American Century Championships online (not likely), you might have noticed that Deadspin's Rick Chandler was running a live blog on NBCSports.com following Charles Barkley at the celebrity tournament.
When Chandler first got to the range to introduce himself on Thursday, he informed the hall of famer about his plans for the week. When Barkley heard the word blog, he asked: "Live blog? What's that?"
Apparently, Barkley was not familiar with what a blog actually is. You would figure that a television announcer would be aware of this, especially when NBA players he covers like Gilbert Arenas run successful ones. Nevertheless, he said at the end of the week:
When I talked with you on Thursday, you said you were doing a blog, and I didn't know what that was. I don't know what a blog is, but it don't sound good.
You have to respect Sir Charles for being a good sport about it.
