Earlier today, Tiger Woods held a conference call in promotion of the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills. But, of course, everybody wanted to know about his preparation for the U.S. Open next week at Torrey Pines and how the leg is holding up. Woods, as usual, didn't reveal too much, but said that he is making progress...
I've been practicing quite a bit. I've just started to play some holes...Hopefully, it will be close to 100%. But if it's not, no big deal. I've won tournaments with it like that before.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm still skeptical about Woods returning for the U.S. Open. Even though he says he is going to play, Woods still hasn't played a full round of golf since the surgery, and we are less than 10 days away from the first round of the tournament. If Woods does play, the question will be, can his body hold up for 72 holes (plus a practice round or two)?
