Wie starts where she left off

Michelle_wieSome writers suggested prior to the U.S. Open that Michelle Wie was on her way back to the upper echelon of the LPGA.  If round one was any indication, she has a long way to go.

Wie ended up with a nine on the par-4 9th hole, closing with an opening round 8-over 81.  Ron Sirak makes the most reasonable suggestion out there:

She shouldn't let pride get in the way. She should play the Futures Tour. All she needs to do is write a letter asking for permission. Do you think they'd ever turn her down? It's all about getting some rounds under her belt. That's how you learn to win. That's how you learn to avoid mental mistakes like those she made on No. 9.
