Profile: Hicks a golf junkie just like the rest of us

Dan_hicksDan Hicks was a part of NBC's first U.S. Open team in 1995 at Shinnecock, and has been a staple ever since.  Hicks is a pretty good golfer himself, a 9.1 index, and supposedly brings his clubs to each golf tournament he covers.  We've always been impressed with his ability to make sense out of some of the things that Johnny Millers says, which has to be tough to do.

What many people don't know is that Hicks is married to Hannah Storm.  My friends and I grew up watching Storm on the NBA on NBC.  Some argue that she is a bigger name than Hicks, especially after this latest deal with ESPN.

On a side-note, Hicks is known for doing stellar impersonations of colleague Bob Costas, Tom Brokaw, and former president Richard Nixon.  In a recent interview with Golf Digest, Hicks admitted to doing an impersonation of Bill Clinton at the 1997 U.S. Open during a commercial break, not knowing that Clinton was listening on the other end.
