Tiger Woods will miss the Players Championship and Wachovia Championship due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. This means he will need to add at least one extra event to his schedule in order to retain full PGA Tour membership privileges next year. A player needs to compete in at least 15 tournaments to be eligible as a member the following year.
Expect Woods to play in the Buick Open at Warwick Hills, an event he has won twice before. There was plenty of disappointment last year when Woods didn't show, and it was the first time he had missed the event in six years.
I can't see Woods playing all four FedEx Cup events or anything during the Fall Series. He'll need the Buick Open, just as much as the Buick needs him.
