Tiger Woods announced on his website earlier today that he had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair cartilage damage. The surgery was a success, but Woods will be out of action for 4-6 weeks. This is the third time Woods has had surgery on the knee. The Woods camp did a pretty good job of keeping the surgery under the radar, as it was planned for quite some time...
I made the decision to deal with the pain and schedule the surgery for after the Masters. The upside is that I have been through this process before and know how to handle it. I look forward to working through the rehabilitation process and getting back to action as quickly as I can.
The only big tournament Woods is guaranteed to miss is the Players Championship. There is a possibility he could return for the Memorial in late May, but a US Open return is more likely.
