As mentioned earlier, I was in New York City this past weekend speaking at a radio conference. It was the first time I had been away from this blog for more than 2 days, but I was still exposed to so much golf-related material in NYC, mainly, The Masters. While I was in Times Square at 1 a.m. Sunday morning, I watched Masters ads for ESPN's early round coverage on the big screen in front of the ABC building. Talk about a good marketing scheme. Even in the conference center at the hotel, there were illustrations of Amen Corner on the walls. In January, CBS had already started their "A tradition like none other" commercials. I can't think of too many other sporting events that have this much hype four months before they even begin.
