Rome gives his take on Isenhour incident
Last week, Tripp Isenhour, a former PGA Tour golfer, and 4-time winner on the Nationwide Tour, was charged in Orange County Circuit Court for animal cruelty and killing a migratory bird during the filming of an instructional video. The news garnered a lot of attention from the media, and Isenhour apologized for what he did. Jim Rome gave his take on Friday's edition of Jim Rome is Burning:
Now he (Isenhour) says, he was only trying to scare the bird away, and that he asks, "that everyone accept my sincerest apology and please be respectful of my family’s privacy."
_
If you were just trying to scare the bird away, then why did you say, "I'll get him now." And your family’s privacy would not be an issue if you weren’t out there trying to kill birds. Nobody would be bothering your family because nobody knew who the hell they or you were until you took that hawk’s beak off with that hooded wedge. Then again, look at the bright side, 24 hours ago, nobody knew you even existed, and now we all know who you are. Plus, if you are the 548th ranked player in the world, you have to make a name for yourself somehow, and we know it was not going to be with your game.
Isenhour could face 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines for the offense.
