According to the Courthouse News Service, Phil Mickelson has sued BearingPoint fo
r breach of contract in Federal Court. Mickelson has worn the BearingPoint (and KPMG Consulting) logo on his hat since 2000. Mickelson and his agent, Steve Loy, said that they worked out an extension to their endorsement deal with BearingPoint's CEO, Harry You. The problem is that You has been fired and BearingPoint officials say that You did not have the authority to extend the endorsement deal. Mickelson has already made appearances under the supposed deal and now demands exemplary damages. The full complaint can be read here. It was rumored that Mickelson would not be wearing the BearingPoint logo on his visor at next week's Buick Invitational, but Tim Rosaforte said on Saturday night on the Sprint Post Game that the logo will still be worn.
