Originally, it was up in the air as to whether or not the PGA Tour would be committed to staying in the Chicago area for the long haul. However, according to ESPN.com news services, the PGA Tour announced on Wednesday that the BMW Championship will be held at Cog Hill just outside of Chicago from 2009-11. There were reports that the BMW would be played in the Windy City every even-numbered year due to the fact that the tournament will be played next year in St. Louis, but that speculation was put to rest with the announcement. "Wednesday's news is at least an indication that the tour has had second thoughts about abandoning Chicago in alternating years," writes Len Ziehm of the Chicago Sun-Times.
