According to ESPN.com news services, Michelle Wie's agent, Greg Nared, has resigned after less than a year on the job. In a statement e-mailed to the Associated Press, Nared said, "After careful consideration for my future, I have resigned effective immediately. I'm very grateful to the William Morris Agency for the opportunity to work with world-class athletes. It has been an invaluable experience and I'll forever cherish [it]." Nared's integrity and the motives of the entire Wie camp were questioned during the Ginn Tribute in late May. Wie was 14-over-par through 16 holes when Nared confronted her on the eighth tee box. Wie withdrew from the tournament shortly after the conversation, citing a wrist injury. Critics felt that Wie wasn't telling the truth and her camp didn't want the teen phenom banned for the year, due to the LPGA rule that states if a non-LPGA member shoots an 88 or higher in a round, that player is banned for the year. Wie's former agent, Ross Berlin, resigned after a year as well ('05-'06).
