It was a great sports weekend. Viewers were able to see the last two games of the Red Sox-Indians series, NCAA college football, Week 7 of the NFL, and a Nascar race. Unfortunately, if viewers wanted to watch golf highlights on ESPN's SportsCenter over the weekend, they had to look elsewhere. Mike Weir's win at the Fry's Electronics Open wasn't mentioned once on the Monday morning edition of SportsCenter. Nothing golf related was discussed on the Sunday morning edition either. Rex Hoggard of golfweek.com wrote Sunday morning, "Don’t want to say golf has become an afterthought, but I watched an hour long SportsCenter on ESPN this morning and the closest thing I saw to a golf shot was J.D. Drew’s grand slam in the first inning of Saturday’s American League Championship Series between Bostonand Cleveland."
