For the
sixth time this year, John Daly has withdrawn from a PGA tournament. This time, on Sunday at the Ginn sur Mer Classic, where he was well out of contention, at 4-over-par for the tournament. According to the Associated Press, Daly bogeyed three of the first four holes he played, and subsequently withdrew, citing no reason. This means that Daly's season has come to a disappointing close. The 2-time major champion was denied a sponsors exemption to this week's Children's Miracle Network Classic. With Daly well outside the top-125 on the money list (184), he will need sponsors exemptions next year in order to play on tour.
