Remarkable Stan Hill Scores Another Hole In One Aged 91
Here is the incredible story of Stan Hill of Thurnby who at the age of 91 years old scored a hole in one. He says that this wasn’t his first, he had done it before a few years ago.
This amazing gentleman is a regular player at his local course. He also still works 3 days a week which he says helps to keep him fit and healthy along with playing golf.
This was his fifth hole in one, which is quite an achievement in itself, as most people don’t even get one. If Stan only has time for a quick nine holes he carries his own clubs. Stan has shown that you are never to old.
Thurnby’s Stan Hill defied his tender age of 91 to hit a hole-in-one.
It came on the 117-yard 11th hole of his home course at Scraptoft, when he hit his driver from the tee.
He said: “I was amazed because, when I got to the green, I thought I had hit the ball through the back, as the other three balls were on the putting surface.
“But when I went to tend the flag, mine was in the hole.
“I was quite excited as, although this is my fifth ace, the others had been a few years ago now.
“I had them more than 20 years ago and, at my age, didn’t really expect to get another one.
“But a group of about 18 of us have regular friendly competitions among ourselves. We draw for partners, so I play about three times a week.
“If I am playing 18 holes, I always walk and use an electric trolley, but if I just pop up to the course for nine holes on my own, I carry my clubs.
“I do exercises for my legs and arms, so walking isn’t a problem, although I am due to have an operation on my shoulder soon, so that may keep me away for a couple of weeks then.
